Sunday Supper at the Chelsea Market

Set in a historic factory, Manhattan’s Chelsea Market is now home to some of the city's finest epicurean shops and restaurants. For our sixth annual Friends of James Beard Benefit, we've culled a formidable group of chefs to prepare a convivial family-style feast, which will be served in the market’s main hall.

This year's Sunday Supper at Chelsea Market will raise funds to benefit the James Beard Foundation, Wellness in the Schools, and other charitable initiatives of the Jamestown Charitable Foundation.

Monday, March 24, 7:00 P.M.

Virginia Luxury Escape

Perhaps it’s the Inn at Willow Grove’s Southern charm or its picturesque 40-acre estate that first lures guests, but what keeps its well-heeled patrons coming back is the world-class cuisine crafted by Jason Daniels. Join us to sample the elegant, masterfully prepared fare that’s made this boutique hotel a coveted destination.

Tuesday, March 25, 7:00 P.M.

Cambridge Hot Spot

Get an early taste of one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of 2014. Michael Scelfo’s Alden & Harlow only just started serving diners, and has already garnered intense buzz. Join the renowned chef—formerly of the beloved Russell House Tavern—for a lavish Beard House dinner.

A Sustainable Seafood Dinner

Join the James Beard Foundation Greens (foodies under 40) at Sopra, a new intimate space within Amali, which is currently sitting pretty on Eater’s highly selective “38 Essential New York Restaurants” list. For this special event, we’ve enlisted Amali chef Rachel Goulet and fishmonger Gabrielle Stommel (a.k.a. Gabe the Fish Babe), one of the leaders of the sustainable fish movement. The duo will collaborate on a menu, paired with sustainable wines by Vias Imports, that will showcase a variety of local seafood—and prove just how delicious sustainability can be.

Thursday, March 27, 7:00 P.M.

Four by Flor Wine Exploration

With their collection of impeccable restaurants in Manhattan and Brooklyn, wife-and-husband duo Alex Raij and Eder Montero have brought original regional Spanish–influenced cuisine to New York City. For their Beard House dinner, they will be showcasing sherries and wines produced in the sherry method: amazing food wines that will highlight this pair’s innovative style.

Louisiana Seafood Celebration

Award-winning executive chef Scott Varnedoe is at the helm of Restaurant IPO, a cool, modern American hot spot with Baton Rouge flair. Join Varnedoe and Aaron Brown for a menu highlighting pristine Louisiana seafood prepared with Varnedoe’s innovative, Southern-inspired savvy.

Hops and Vines

Who says wine and beer can’t get along on the same menu? We’ve tapped the teams behind the award-winning and acclaimed restaurants of Washington’s Neighborhood Restaurant Group to craft a collaborative tasting that will feature superb wines and food-forward beers from their newest project, Bluejacket Brewery.
