Close friends and culinary kindred spirits Jesse Schenker, of the Gander and acclaimed West Village restaurant Recette, and Seth Siegel-Gardner and Terrence Gallivan, of the Pass and Provisions in Houston, are combining their cross-country talents to create one incredible, collaborative meal.

Virginia Rising Stars 
Experience Virginia’s dining renaissance at the Beard House when we host the state’s rising culinary stars for a spectacular collaborative meal. The night’s menu will feature the chefs’ favorite local ingredients, Virginia-sourced wine pairings, and stellar cocktails from formidable mixologist and restaurant owner Stefan Trummer.

Beard on Books 
Celebrated cookbook author and chef Joyce Goldstein’s new work, Inside the California Food Revolution: Thirty Years That Changed Our Culinary Consciousness, traces the development of California cuisine from its formative years in the 1970s to 2000, when farm-to-table, foraging, and fusion became part of the national vocabulary. Featuring interviews with almost 200 chefs, purveyors, artisans, winemakers, and food writers, Goldstein explains how the counterculture movement in the West gave rise to a restaurant culture characterized by open kitchens, women in leadership positions, and a surprising number of chefs and artisanal food producers who lacked formal training.
