Mimi SheratonBetween her roles as a former New York Times restaurant critic and food and travel journalist, JBF Award winner Mimi Sheraton has criss-crossed the globe while experiencing the best bites around the world. In her new book, 1,000 Foods to Eat Before You Die, Sheraton offers her insights, compiling a list of must-haves for the adventurous food lover in all of us. Ranging from high-end tasting menus to the simple delight of a frozen candy bar, Sheraton shares her view on how to live life to its gastronomic fullest.
Tickets to events held at the James Beard House cover the cost of food and a unique dining experience. Dinners are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. All alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.

Beard on Books is an ongoing monthly literary series featuring readings and discussions with some of the food world’s most celebrated authors. Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino waters, Lavazza Coffee, tea from Tea Forté, and Valrhona Chocolate will be served. Refreshments will be provided by Sarabeth's. Guests are also welcome to bring a brown-bag lunch. Suggested donation $20. Free admission for students
