We've partnered with Simmer, a new app that allows you to generate step-by-step recipe videos that you can create, watch, and share from your very own kitchen. In the coming weeks and months, we'll continue sharing instructional videos that will teach you how to create tantalizing dishes from JBF Award winners, Beard House chefs, and even Beard himself, all prepared in James Beard's historic New York City kitchen.
Acclaimed New Orleans establishment Arnaud’s is famous the world over for their classic Creole cuisine set in the city’s historic French Quarter. Nearly a century old, the family-owned and -operated restaurant is steeped in tradition and outfitted with not one, but two gorgeous bars. With this reputation preceding them, it’s no surprise that one of their cocktail havens, Arnaud’s French 75 Bar, is a 2015 JBF Outstanding Bar Program award nominee. In a space that used to be a gentlemen-only area during the early days with an emphasis on premium spirits, classic cocktails, and fine cigars, you know that anything that slides across their antique custom-built bar (from the 1800s, no less) will pack a bonafide boozy punch. And rest assured, the Night Tripper doesn’t disappoint. Created by head bartender Chris Hannah, the recipe is a concoction of bourbon, bitters, and a few other boozy basics. Watch the step-by-step video below, as JBF director of house programming Izabela Wojcik shows you how to whip this up cocktail up at home.
