Here’s a merry idea for kicking off the holiday party season: on December 4, why not make your way to Heritage Radio Network’s (HRN) fundraising gala, Winter in the Garden, at the Palm House and Yellow Magnolia Café, in Brooklyn Botanic Garden?
HRN, a nonprofit radio station famous for broadcasting from two recycled shipping containers behind Roberta’s Pizza, is putting their heart into this event. No need to rent a tux for this gala—the dress code is "festive," not formal. Just bring your appetite, because (no surprise) HRN is serious about food, has partnered with Patina Restaurant Group, and lined up a fantastic group of chefs and bartenders to serve up an incredible evening of edible entertainment. Signature cocktails will be provided by the co-hosts of HRN’s The Speakeasy, Damon Boelte and Sother Teague, who was recently named Wine Enthusiast’s Mixologist of the Year. Local chefs, including the Finch’s Gabe McMackin, El Atoradero’s Noah Arenstein, and Brucie’s Zahra Tangorra, will serve up delicious small bites. And D.J. CherishTheLuv, host of Wedding Cake, will get everyone dancing.
“Partying with HRN means hanging out with some of the best food industry people and radio hosts in town, while helping us reach our goal to provide world-changing food radio stories for the year to come. Doing good was never so much fun,” says HRN executive director Caity Moseman Wadler. Party bonus: be 2017’s best gift-giver by bidding on some amazing silent auction items. HRN is offering weekend getaways on both coasts, a super-rare agave spirit from Oaxaca, an epic butcher shop gift card, extraordinary wines, and more.
