Raised in Brooklyn by a family of Korean immigrants, Edward Lee eventually planted roots in Louisville, Kentucky, where he owns the acclaimed restaurant 610 Magnolia. A multiple JBF Award nominee, Edward creates recipes that reflect the overlapping flavors and techniques that led this Korean-American chef to feel right at home in the South. His debut cookbook, Smoke & Pickles, includes tales of the restaurant world, his television debut on Top Chef, and more than 130 recipes for food with Korean roots and Southern soul.
Tickets to events held at the James Beard House cover the cost of food and a unique dining experience. Dinners are prepared by culinary masters from all regions of the United States and around the world. All alcoholic beverages are provided on a complimentary basis and are not included in the ticket price.

Beard on Books is an ongoing monthly literary series featuring readings and discussions with some of the food world’s most celebrated authors. Acqua Panna and S.Pellegrino waters, Lavazza Coffee, tea from Tea Forté, and Valrhona Chocolate will be served. Sweets provided by Three Tarts. Guests are also welcome to bring a brown-bag lunch. Suggested donation $20. Free admission for students.
