The American, an iconic restaurant that opened in 1974 under the consultation of James Beard and other industry titans, has produced noteworthy chefs and is also the backdrop of the longest running Friends of James Beard Benefit. Join us for this special dinner led by host chef Michael Olson and a roster of fantastic guest chefs to help celebrate The American's 50th anniversary!

50 Years of The American! is part of the Friends of James Beard Benefit series; events hosted by generous people, businesses, and organizations outside of JBF that provide critical funding for our programs. Each event supports our mission to champion a standard of Good Food for Good© anchored in talent, equity, and sustainability.
