Join JBF Greens for contemporary Filipino-American fare at Abacá in the Kimpton Alton Hotel in Fisherman's Wharf.

Open since 2021, Abacà has garnered local and national praise for magnifying the beauty and diversity of Filipino culture and cuisine. The first brick-and-mortar from chef/co-owner (and JBF Award semifinalist) Francis Ang and his wife and director of operations Dian Ang, Abacá is the successor to the couple's celebrated pop-up Pinoy Heritage, which they launched in 2014. 

Though he was born in San Francisco, chef Francis spent his formative years in the Phillippines, taking in the rich flavors of his family's kitchen. For this dinner, chef Francis will curate a vibrant family-style menu that utilizes Northern California produce while honoring original family recipes. Wine pairings will be provided by The Calling.

*70% of your ticket price will go directly to the host chef to support their business while 30% will go towards the Foundation’s national programming that is rooted in advocacy, racial equity, sustainability, and women’s leadership for the culinary industry.  

All reservations are non-refundable and must be made in advance. Should the event(s) be cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances, including COVID-19, The James Beard Foundation will offer options including ticket exchanges, use of tickets for future events, and option to donate tickets.
