To celebrate our 30th anniversary, we’re sharing 30 Years in 30 Days, an exclusive 30-episode digital series featuring noteworthy chefs and culinary icons who will help us tell the story of the Foundation’s history in the 30 days leading up to an exciting television premiere: 30 Years: A Celebration of the James Beard Foundation, airing Sunday, November 26, at 4:00 P.M. (ET) on ABC. The exciting television special will feature appearances by industry icons Daniel Boulud, Tom Colicchio, Traci des Jardins, Carla Hall, Emeril Lagasse, Jacques Pepin, Gail Simmons, Martha Stewart, Ming Tsai, and Marcus Samuelsson, who will help us tell the story of our history and evolution.
On our sixth installment of 30 Years in 30 Days, we’ve got JBF director of scholarship Diane Harris Brown, who started as a kitchen volunteer and has been with JBF for almost as long as we have been in existence. Before Julia Child passed away, Diane made it a priority to record Child’s story about how the James Beard Foundation came to be.
Watch the video above, and be sure to stay tuned as we continue to share these poignant pieces over the next month.
