The oats have been cooked, the votes have been tallied, and we now have a winner for the first ever More Taste, Less Waste recipe contest!
Over the last few weeks, JBF in partnership with Quaker hosted a recipe contest to inspire food industry professionals to re-think the power of the oat to help recover foods that often go to waste through new, delicious recipes that add nutrition and flavor. Thousands of votes were cast at jamesbeard.org/moretastelesswaste-vote, and the winning chef, JBF Award–winning cookbook author Virginia Willis, will receive a $5,000 donation to the US-based 501(c) non-profit food charity of her choice, the Atlanta Community Food Bank, courtesy of Quaker.
You can view all of the contest’s recipes on our More Taste, Less Waste participants page.
