By developing and cultivating the capabilities among, and peer groups of, these influential professionals, the Legacy Network Program advances the equitable, culturally relevant leadership required to strengthen the industry. Each Legacy Advisee, under the guidance of Legacy Advisors, becomes part of a powerful network that centers the professional growth of traditionally underserved communities. The Legacy Network ensures that their career paths are diverse, equitable, and sustainable. The Legacy Network will select 20 participants—10 advisors and 10 advisees—to participate in the program.

This 12-week virtual program enables selected advisors and advisees to expand their network and consult and receive support from fellow POC (people of color) industry professionals. Each week, led by an executive leadership coach, features leadership and mentoring sessions with all participants and specialty groups to explore how to advance professional goals and seek the necessary support to do so. Additional educational sessions vary per cohort and might include topics such as financial literacy and business marketing.

The program takes place every Monday between September 8 and December 9 (except October 13 and November 24) between 1-3 P.M. ET, and every Tuesday between September 9 and December 9 (except October 14 and November 11 and 25) at 2-3 P.M. ET. If you cannot commit to attending each session, please wait to apply until that is possible. Full attendance is a requirement of the program.

My advisor helped me out a lot... she’s more than a mentor she’s a friend; someone I’ll remain in contact with after the program. I’m looking forward to working with her in the future to help me achieve my goals of becoming a successful restaurant business owner.” – 23/24 Legacy Network Advisee

The opportunity to connect and network with other minorities in the food space who may have successfully tackled issues I’m currently/potentially facing. Sharing knowledge and practices that I have utilized in business with my mentee. Being a cohort of the JBF Foundation has been one of the most rewarding experiences. The relationships are invaluable, and I hope to continue growing them.” – 23/24 Legacy Network Advisor
