Braised Cabbage

Method

  • 1 cup onion, sliced thin
  • 1/2 cup carrots, sliced thin
  • 1 cup diced bacon
  • 3 cups green cabbage
  • 3 cups red cabbage
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper

Cook the bacon over medium heat until the fat has no color. Add the onions and carrots and cook for 10 minutes. Add the cabbage and cook until tender, about 10 minutes. Finish with the vinegar, salt, and pepper.

4 to 6 servings
