Eastern Carolina Barbecue Sauce

Method
Surprisingly, it didn’t take much for David Calkins, formerly of Old Glory Restaurant in Washington, D.C., to give up one of his cherished barbecue sauce recipes. Those who prefer their 'cue less spicy can decrease the amount of crushed red pepper in the recipe.

- 3/4 cup molasses
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 3/4 cup kosher salt
- 1/3 cup crushed red pepper
